Social Self-care is very important to a person’s well-being. Whether you’re an introvert, extrovert, or somewhere in between, every person needs healthy human connections and relationships. We all need a support system of people who support us throughout our lives.
Definition: Social self-care consists of activities that help to build and nurture relationships.
Examples
Be present when you’re with someone. Limit distractions.
Schedule regular dates with your significant other.
Go to brunch with friends.
Honor your commitment to other people.
Asking for help when you need it.
Participate in safe social activities that create opportunities to meet new people.
Limit access to people who dishonor your boundaries, drain you, or treat you unkindly.
Schedule time for social activities and connecting with others.
Be intentional about reaching out to friends and family.
Be curious about the lives of those around you.
