Therapist Spotlight: Jessica Brady, LPC-MHSP

We know starting therapy can feel intimidating. If that’s how you are feeling right now, you are not alone. We want to make it a little easier for you by helping you get to know our therapists. Today’s feature is Jessica Brady. Keep reading to learn more about her!

I consider myself a cognitive behavioral therapist (CBT). We will focus a lot on patterns of thinking and learning ways to create healthier ways of thinking. CBT teaches that our thoughts create our feelings and feelings create our behaviors.”

Jessica

Q: Why did you become a therapist?

A: Because I love connecting with people. Who doesn’t need a safe space to spill the tea; a space free of judgement to be heard and supported? I love that I can play a role in providing that for people.

Q: What are the first few sessions like?

A: The first session will be considered the intake session.  I’ll focus on gathering information and getting to know you better.  We’ll spend time talking about goals for therapy and working on a plan together for how we can reach those goals.  From there we will build rapport and trust with one another.

Just for fun:

Q: What’s the last show that you binged and loved?

A: Currently watching The Last of Us. I can’t wait for the release of the next weekly episode!

Q: What do you do to recharge?

A: Spend time outdoors, watch tv, enjoy a chai tea latte

Q: What are some of your favorite family activities?

A: Visiting the zoo and doing arts and crafts together.
