We know starting therapy can feel intimidating. If that’s how you are feeling right now, you are not alone. We want to make it a little easier for you by helping you get to know our therapists. Today’s feature is Kelly Sevin, our Clinical Director. Keep reading to learn more about her!

“I see therapy as a collaborative process where I seek to understand you, your needs and your goals while offering new perspectives and teaching you new skills. I want to help you understand yourself more and to find healing in relationships with others and with yourself.”

Kelly

Therapy Focuses: trauma, shame/resilience, addiction, mood/thinking patterns and relationship issues

Q: What are the first few sessions like?

A: A combination of getting to know the client and setting a plan for therapy, what are the clients goals and desired outcomes.  We will look for patterns and insights.  Also, while getting to know the client and their history, I want to share/educate about coping skills that can be practiced right away.

Q: Why did you become a therapist?

A: The short answer: I know life can be hard and I want to help make it at least a little less hard while helping people heal and learn new ways of living the life they want.  I want to help share hope that change is possible!

Q: What’s 1 thing you want people to know?

A: It is natural to be nervous about therapy. And it is a process! I guess that's 2 things.

Q: What’s the last show that you binged and loved?

A: I am currently on season 2 of New Amsterdam.

Q: What do you do to recharge?

A: Read, cook, exercise or time outside!! Of course anything with my dog!
